Regulatory Update: What you need to know about the EU ETS
Presented by Adam Hartley, Supervisor, Regulatory Services Team, Universal Weather and Aviation, Inc.
This presentation will provide clear guidance on how to comply with the European Union Emissions Trading Scheme (EU ETS). Before planning flights to Europe, operators subject to the EU ETS must understand the often complex monitoring and reporting procedures. During this session participants will learn to:
* Determine if their flight operation will be covered by the EU ETS
* Submit the required emissions monitoring and reporting plans to EU authorities
* Understand the benefits of participating in the 2010 emissions benchmarking plan
The European Union Emissions Trading Scheme, or EU-ETS, is a mandatory regulation requiring all non-commercial operators who travel into, out of, and between EU member states to monitor their CO2 emissions starting 1 January 2010.
