General
Instrument departures in general, use fixes on the ORD departure.
There are many times that the tower will land aircraft on runway 16 and depart on runway 34. In this scenario, if the inbound and weather permits, cancel your IFR flight plan with the tower and this will help to expedite IFR departures that are waiting to depart.
If ATIS states to land on runway 34, and the wind is not a limitation for your operation, ask for a straight in. If traffic permits, you will get in.
If you are circling for runway 34 on an ILS approach, they will want you to cancel the circle. If you are unable to cancel, you must let ORD know in advance. You may experience delays.
